Claire Argir was raised on a farm in Minnesota. As a little girl, Claire’s mom would take her to the jewelry store and they would look at the “shinies” together, fostering her love of fine jewelry. The jewelry was a respite for both of them from the challenges they faced in a small rural town. Although she loved jewelry, she didn’t consider it to be a career option until she was in her twenties. She started her college career as an aerospace engineering major at Penn State and quickly realized that she was drawn to more creative fields. Claire then moved to New York City and began her jewelry career in 2014. She attended the Gemological Institute of America where she completed a certificate in Jewelry Design, and then moved on to Pratt Institute to finish her undergraduate degree. Claire currently lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Alex, and their cat, Gladys.
